Construction Costs

The total cost of the new Hostel project is estimated to be approximately Rs. 28.5 million (Rs. 2.85 crores) or US$ 594,000 (at US$1=Indian Rupees 48) inclusive of furnishings etc.

UWAB has received approval for a grant of Rs. 4.6 million (Rs. 46 lakhs) or US$96,000 (at US$1=Indian Rupees 48) from the Government of India and has received two installments amounting to Rs. 27 lakhs.

An additional Rs. 3.5 million (Rs. 35 lakh) or US$73,000 has been raised from other sources (State govt grant, MPLADS fund, donations from well-wishers and other funds).

We still need to raise Rs. 20.4 million (Rs. 2.04 cores) to finish the building and furnish it suitably.
