Computer Training Center

Computer Center

UWAB set up a Computer Training Centre (CTC) to impart computer literacy skills to girls and young women from underprivileged backgrounds. Since its inception in 1992 approximately 4000 students have been trained in basic computer skills. Students from low income groups are provided with tuition at concessional rates. There are currently 50 students enrolled at the centre, which is managed by the same Committee that oversees that Working Women’s Hostel in Sampangiramnagar. The centre has two full-time and one part-time paid faculty. The centre was set up with initial financial assistance from NORAD.

New courses and certifications have been introduced based on industry needs, changing trends and improvements in technology. We have a steady stream of students. The UWAB CTC conducts courses in basic computer usage, certificate courses in programming languages (HTML, Java, C++), as well as teaches applications such as Excel and Tally.
